TEACHER’S PROFILE

Mr Alfred Low graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a First Class Honours in Science (Major in Mathematics). With his set of excellent results in NUS, he was a multiple Dean’s Lister and proceeded to attain his Masters in Science (Mathematics by Coursework) in the University.

Armed with examining experience in overseas examination boards and formerly teaching in Singapore and overseas, Mr. Alfred Low knows exactly how the exam papers are set and where the students lose their marks. Besides his stint in school teachings, Mr Low has also accumulated many years of private tuition experience. He has coached a wide spectrum of students, from extremely weak and math-loathing ones to those who are very self-driven and target nothing less than A.

Mr. Alfred Low helps over 75 per cent of the students in his tuition classes to obtain a distinction in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Mathematics examination nearly every year. In some years, the distinction rate hit as high as 90 per cent, with the remaining students mostly scoring a B.

Mr. Alfred Low is the author of several mathematics assessment and textbooks which include Essential Additional Mathematics approved by MOE.H2 mathematics Vol 1 and Vol 2 have been the best-selling mathematics textbook in Singapore since 2016 where over 3000 copies have been sold.
